About Amherst Medical Alert

Our mission is to help seniors maintain their independence by offering the best technology and most comprehensive monitoring services.

Immediate emergency care saves lives. In the event of a heart attack, America’s number one killer, about 50% of deaths occur within one hour of the attack — while the victim is outside the hospital.

Urgent medical attention also ensures independent living. The Center of Disease Control (CDC) reports that about one in three Americans over 65 will fall in a given year — it’s the leading cause of accidental death among senior citizens. According to the New England Journal of Medicine, 90% of the elderly people who get help within one hour of a fall or other injury continue to live independent lives. If seniors don’t get help for 12 hours, however, there’s only a 10% chance that they’ll be able to live on their own without assistance.

Despite these facts, companies continue to sell unsafe, impractical, unreliable, and overpriced emergency response devices on TV and online. These products promise to help senior citizens, people with mobility challenges, and individuals with chronic health problems call for help when they need urgent medical care. But when it comes to some of the most common accidents in the home — a slip in the shower, for example, or a stumble in the driveway — these products just don’t work. We found a better solution.

With the Libris2 mobile PERS, active seniors experience independent living with full peace of mind knowing their Libris2 device is always on call. Caregivers are assured their loved ones could get help if needed knowing they had libris’ industry-leading advanced fall detection with ease of use and access to important health monitoring data.

Libris2 provides improved performance for active seniors, loan workers, and others who want peace of mind when they’re out and about. This means that in an emergency you’ll be easier to find. Libris2 offers crystal clear audio with improved microphone and speaker performance for worry-free communication.  With 4g LTE support, Libris2 offers better call quality than ever before. The device detects falls with utmost accuracy and minimized false alarms while notifying the monitoring center of a fall even if the individual is unable to activate the button themselves.
